so much for sleeping angels...

It is 10:30pm and N quietly snuck downstairs on his own...smug grin of satisfaction going cheek to cheek. He was so darn cute, it was too hard to send him back to bed right away. These are rare moments when he gets us all to himself, so I'll indulge us all. Since then, he's been dancing and prancing around to the music playlist from "thechang4" blog. Already said it, but he's so cute!

Oh well, so much for indulgence. My little angel's eyes are bleary and he's definitely showing signs of need sleep mommy.

sleeping angels...

Kids are so angelic when they sleep.

Yes, my two little peanuts are still snoozing away, even in this heat. Oops, spoke too soon. N is awake. Oh well, my time catching up on my blog was just what a I needed. If I had a weekly or monthly quota to meet, I just did it. ~tootles.

everyone needs a little downtime...

Don't they look so sweet. Trust me, this was a rare moment. Not so much that they are reading, (or looking, should I say)...but that they are both doing it at the same time and NOT fighting over the same book. That came 5 minutes after the photos were shot....

yes, N loves princess books as well...

...although N likes to think he is "reading", E is actually reading some.

but, N sure loves pouring over his books.

Payback!

Remember Hawaii...well, so does N!

it's a scorcher!

Today's forecast, low 90's. Luckily, we didn't actually hit it, it's only 87. But, who are we kidding, 87 or 94, what's the diff? I've lived in Alaska and anything over 75 is TOO HOT! Too much heat and watch out, this mama starts to grow spikes.

Fortunately, we spent a dreadful 1 1/2hrs in the sweltering sun at a local carnival which wiped E and N out, giving me some peace and quiet (spikes recede). Now, when daddy comes home, he will be greeted with a smile and we can all have a pleasant evening...eating out, of course.

Tomorrow's supposed to be hotter...OUCH! Shopping malls should be buzzing with activity. We might have to join the masses and exercise our wallets.

Company perks...love it!

Last weekend we went on our first ever company picnic with daddy P's new work division. It was just like the portrayals you see on TV. There was food, games, entertainment, and activities for kids of all ages...best of all, FREE!

The morning began gray, with some showers. We weren't sure we'd make it out to the picnic. But, by lunch, it was warm and sunny. So glad we went. The setting was beautiful. That's Mt. Si behind E.

First thing...food! N was digging his rib.

...and who can resist ice cream.

Pimp my ride...

needs a little work, but N was pretty happy with his new ride. Of course, E's choice of ride...ponies! She couldn't be happier.

She's only 3 1/2yrs, but she looks amazingly at ease on her horse.

Funny story...N was happy as a peach after his ice cream, dancing and screeching with delight. Just watch as pure delight quickly melts away...

...see daddy's hand going for his popsicle stick.

Sweet sis to the rescue. E consoles her little brother.

Shortly after, the rains began and poured mercilessly on our picnic. Wish I got a photo of the mass exodus of people scurrying to escape the rain. It was quite a sight.

Laying low...

Kids were sick, so we've been puttering around home. N is now 17mos old and very social. It's amazing how well N and E play together and so cute. N loves his sister and must do EVERYTHING she does, sometimes to her annoying frustration. Funny, I'll be in the kitchen and all I hear is E singing away and then occasionally she'll pass the kitchen with her silent shadow in tow.

Why silent? N has gotten into this thing of sucking his lower lip...ALL the time. It started harmlessly with his two big fingers, they blistered, so he moved onto his thumbs. Until he worked through both hands and he found his lower lip. Didn't think anything of it the first week, but it's been going on for a few weeks now. Dentists aren't concerned...yet, but we hardly hear a peep from him. You can imagine how his speech development is coming along.

As for mommy and daddy, we're just plain tuckered out. Dad has been very busy at work with his new schedule, working like a dog, and coming home exhausted. He actually falls asleep around 9pm on most days, unheard of! As for me, exhausted from doing round the clock duty to give dad some reprieve AND not complain (that's big, right). I haven't even said anything when he snoozes while doing bedtime...that's huge for me, really!
